From the President...
Dear PennNYC Community,
It is with great pride that I welcome you to the new PennNYC Web site! Over the past three years, PennNYC has become one of the strongest alumni communities worldwide. This is thanks entirely to the many hard working Board members and individuals who believe in PennNYC’s potential and have committed to keeping the Penn spirit alive and vibrant in New York!
Last year we hosted more than 20 events which engaged almost 2,000 local alumni and we are on track to make 2008 even better with the launch of our new Web site!
So why did we need a new Web site?
We wanted to:
-Connect and communicate more easily with our community.
-Enable networking -- whether for job listings or apartment listings.
-Provide access to our ongoing events and facilitate online registration and payment.
-Have your feedback to ensure PennNYC is the most valuable alumni association possible.
Creating and managing our Web site is a work in progress, so we ask for your patience and welcome your suggestions.
While many volunteers helped to launch the Web site, our VP of Technology Aditya Chadha (SEAS'04) and VP of Communications Joanna Gallai (C'97) are the ones who made it happen! Without their hard work, I’m certain it would have taken another two years and never been as valuable! I cannot thank them enough for their extraordinary accomplishment and devotion to creating this invaluable PennNYC experience.
Of course, none of this would have been possible if not for the generous contribution of our charter sponsor: Mindy Diane Feldman (C'77, G'87, WG'87), Senior Vice President, Halstead Property, LLC. Thank you.
Please take a few minutes to activate your membership (sign up on the home page) and peruse the new Web site. We will continue to make improvements and changes so check back often.
As always, we welcome you to take advantage of our social, business, cultural/intellectual, community service, athletic and networking events.
I look forward to meeting you!
Dale Kramer Cohen (W’76)
President, PennNYC
P.S. Our value is dependent on our alumni community. If you have a great idea or want to become a volunteer, please contact our VP of Membership, Michelle Hellbusch at HELLBUSCHESQ212@yahoo.com.
